National Manufacturing Day 2019

HighPressureOpt3

October 4th is National Manufacturing Day. In the United States, National Manufacturing Day is celebrated every year on the first Friday of October. Companies of all sizes will participate in events for this year’s National Manufacturing Day. There is a great future in manufacturing, and this is a way to recognize and promote it. Over the last few decades there has been a decline in US manufacturing and in New York State the decline has been even greater. Rochester, NY, where Optimation is located, has seen large reductions in employment, driven in part by the massive declines of huge manufacturers like Kodak, Xerox and Bausch and Lomb. In response to this, the both the federal government and the state government have made efforts to encourage and incentivize smaller manufactures in a variety of industries. One main focus of their efforts is workforce development.

At Optimation we live to help US manufacturing succeed. That is the purpose of our existence. At Optimation we are in the center of these technical innovations in many different industries and products. Our jobs are dependent on manufacturing and we are proud to be part of the renewed growth in manufacturing. We employ both engineers and tradesmen. We hire and train apprentices and we hire and train engineering students as interns. All of them are involved in the design and fabrication of manufacturing equipment. Our company gatherings today are in recognition of the importance manufacturing brings. Everyone at Optimation has chosen a career path in manufacturing and we are proud of the advancements in manufacturing they bring to America!

We are also proud to be recognized by our peers as an innovator in manufacturing. Today is a day to celebrate recent recognition for awards in manufacturing among our staff.  Wendy Smith, VP of engineering, has been named an Influential Woman in Manufacturing by Putnam Media. Eliot Giebel, Trade Planner, has been named a recipient of the Millennials in Manufacturing Award by FuzeHub.  Ricky Spinosa, welding apprentice, has been named a finalist for the Apprentice of the Year Award by Rochester Technology and Manufacturing Association (RTMA). Eliot has also been named a finalist for the Rising Star Award by RTMA. And finally, Optimation along with Horizon, have been named as finalists for the Powerful Partnership Award by the RTMA. I congratulate them all and wish you a very happy Manufacturing Day!
