It is Optimation’s belief that our team members and the community are our most important asset. The preservation of employee safety and health is a value in every phase of our business. HardhatSafety

Optimation is a member of our local community and has the responsibility of being a good steward of our operational environment by reducing waste and finding alternative solutions that have the least environmental impact.
Optimation’s HSE program is a partnership, driven by management’s commitment and employee involvement. Our team members hold the HSE process as a core value, demonstrated by professional conduct and proactive behaviors.

Health and Wellness in the Workplace

Optimation promotes a healthy lifestyle for our employees. Our company management believes in the benefit of mind and body fitness. We have onsite fitness facilities and promote fitness/exercise activities throughout the organization. We encourage our employees to get involved in health initiatives regardless of their level of fitness. We are creative in promoting initiatives that reach specific targets for an employee with measurable outcomes.

Weekly face-to-face health coaching and healthy choices at company vending machines are just a few of the many ways we promote employee health. The goal of the health and wellness initiative at Optimation is to create an environment which supports a culture of safety and health. The health and wellness program includes:

  • Promoting tools and resources to collect data and drive health efforts
  • Running a Health Risk Assessment Campaign
  • Coordinating an onsite Biometric Screening
  • Crafting an annual operating plan
  • Selecting and implementing appropriate interventions
  • Seeking solutions that will remove barriers to accessing health information and programs
  • Evaluating outcomes and making improvements

Safety Engineers

Our safety engineers assure that acceptable levels of safety are embedded into the project management, engineering and skilled trade services we provide. Our safety engineers work in conjunction with all levels of our workforce from management and engineering to our wide range of skilled trades disciplines. The primary goal of our safety engineers is to manage risk by eliminating it or reducing recognized hazards to acceptable levels.

Certified Safety Professional on Staff

Our Corporate Safety Engineer, Jonathan A. Shaffer CSP, is a professional member of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), and the National Fire and Protection Agency (NFPA). Jonathan is an experienced Safety Professional who has helped teams work through challenging safety issues in the nuclear, manufacturing, construction, and aerospace/defense industries. In addition to his civilian work, Jonathan is also a commissioned officer in the United States Army Reserve where he is assigned as an Environmental Science and Industrial Hygiene Officer.
Having a Certified Safety Professional on staff and on your project improves the opportunity to get it done right, the first time, and without incident.
