Health and Safety Program
The personal health and safety of each employee, contract employee, and visitor
of Optimation is of primary importance, and it is our policy to provide a safe and
healthy work environment. Our Health and Safety Processes are directed toward the
control of all types of hazards that may be encountered in the performance of company
business in the office, on our company’s remote sites such as fabrication shops
or other buildings, visiting or conducting construction or maintenance activities
at client sites. Our Corporate Safety Engineer’s goal is to proactively support a safe and healthy
workplace for all within the Optimation community.
General Company Safety Philosophy Statement This general company safety philosophy has been developed to reflect and communicate the proactive safety attitude maintained at this company.
It is Optimation’s belief that our people are our most important asset and the preservation of employee Safety and Health must remain a constant consideration in every phase of our business. We will provide the resources necessary to manage, control, or eliminate all safety and health hazards. All employees are responsible for working safely and productively, as well as recognition and awareness of hazards in their work areas. Employees are also responsible for following safe work practices. It is our belief that any safety and health program must have total employee involvement. Therefore, this program has management’s highest priority, support and participation.

Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP) Development
Optimation is working to develop OSHA Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP), which promote safety and health in the work environment. VPP sets performance-based criteria for a managed safety and health system, and then involves site application and assessment against these criteria. OSHA’s verification will include an application review and a rigorous onsite evaluation by a team of OSHA safety and health experts.
According to www.osha.gov, VPP “recognize and partner with businesses and work sites that show excellence in occupational safety and health. Sites are committed to effective employee protection beyond the requirements of OSHA standards.” An example of Optimation’s commitment to health and safety can be seen in our behavioral approach to safety. By understanding the barriers to a safe work environment and the critical behaviors that drive these barriers, Optimation is able to make the work environment a safer place through behavior modification.
